Hip Hop in the Park Re-Cap

This is 2 months past due, but we’re posting pictures and videos from Hip Hop in the Park, which was held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009.   This year marked the 13th annual HHitP.  Every year S4HH at UC Berkeley plans, organizes, books, promotes, the free, all ages Hip-Hop in the Park concert at People’s Park in Berkeley, CA.

This year, Ruby Veridiano-Ching hosted the show, while Blu & Exile, Bambu, Bayliens, Bayonics, J – Boogie, Rising Asterisk, and Da Magic Foolbus rocked the stage.  The ciphers, breakers, graf artists, and hip-hop heads were in full effect.  Wild 94.9, 106 KMEL, and Verse Sneaker Boutique all came out to show love.

We’ve included a video that includes a series of clips from all the acts below.  Hit the jump for pictures (Shoutout to Adia, Nivay, Danielle, & Adam).  Or visit the fam at 2DopeBoyz for videos Blu & Exile performing

Update on Hiphop in the Park

What’s up yall,

Hiphop  in the Park has been setup for May 5, and unfortunately, there’s no time left for anyone who still wants to get on the bill.  I’m talking primarily to those people who posted various comments on the page asking if they could rock the crowd.  Keep in contact with us though, because there will be future events.  We’re still looking for breakers and writers, and besides that, we’re always looking for people who want to add articles to the website, outreach programs, and other things goin’ on Hiphop related in the Bay.  I added our official email next to the title on the top of the page.

Hiphop in the Park

What’s up yall.

I want to respond primarily to those of you who posted asking about the deal with Hiphop in the Park.  Unfortunately we don’t have any more room for new artists, although we would like t0 showcase everyone possible and throw the event all the time.

However, for those of you who still want to get down, we will be having a Rock the Block on Lower Sproul this Friday from 5 – 7.  There will be an open mic where you can rock the mic.
